My 2016 Vision Board
Do you have a vision board? I LOVE mine … it’s in my dressing room and, as you do with vision boards – I love to cover it with the things that make me happy. In fact, I’m not 100% sure it’s a vision board as such; it’s more a space that I collect things that inspire me and that I love – so I guess in one way it’s a vision board and in another, it’s a huge photo diary! Either way, it’s great.
At the beginning of each year I take down the “old board” and add pictures and other little bits and pieces to my “new board.” As the year progresses, I add things as I go; little cards, pictures and creations from my daughter, invitations, posters/postcards of shows I’ve been to, tickets, quotes, images and photos I like … whatever catches my eye really, and whatever I want to see each morning as I get ready.
The picture above shows my vision board at the end of 2015 (which seems such a long time ago already!) (See here for pics of my 2014 Vision Board.)
Last year’s was a gorgeous vision board I thought – it started off with a shoe theme – because let’s face it, I LOVE shoes. They’re pretty and they always fit – no matter how “gently rounded” I get! Whilst I do get rid of most of what’s on my last year’s vision board, there are some components I especially love so I tend to reuse them – because ya’ know what? It’s mine, and I can!
So anyway … recently I poured myself a glass of wine and got started on updating the board. I keep all the components of my “old vision board” in a plastic folder in the filing cabinet.
So here is my blank vision board – all ready to be filled with gorgeous new images …
And here’s how it looks now after a lot of stapling and wine-sipping:
As you can see, the board is pretty full already, but I can’t wait to add the little touches and treasures as they arrive throughout the year. I am VERY much looking forward to displaying my long-awaited signed-and-kissed Dita postcard on there too. I’m kind of looking at a “glamour theme” – having read Dita’s new book whilst camping (or should I say “glamping”!) I would like to incorporate a wee bit more glamour in my life this year – you can never have too much glamour I always say! And yes, that is 11 pairs of Betsey Johnson earrings – what can I say, I’m a bit obsessed!
Here’s a couple of close-ups:
Miniature Chanel perfume bottle, bejewelled fleur de lis, Dita – and more Dita, Louis Vuitton and some hand-made (by moi!) vintage-style images framed with pewter frames.
STUNNING shoes; real glitter on the showgirl; a pastie (!); my calendar image and some of my Betsey Johnson earrings collection!
So there you have it … Mumpty’s newly-created Vision Board for 2016. Do you have a vision board? I’d love to see pictures if you do – I’m always so inspired by photos of vision boards – e-mail me yours – email@example.com
